Birmingham, a lively, metropolitan city in the West Midlands of England is the perfect location for a weekend getaway. As the second most populous city in the United Kingdom, Birmingham is a melting pot of cultures, and you are sure to find lots to see and do, there won’t be a moment of boredom in this exciting city.

Short trips to Birmingham can be filled with shopping, sport, music, food & drink; everything you would expect from a major city. The shopping centre of the Bull Ring was once the busiest in the UK and attracts visitors from all over the world to its unique structure, which is home to a huge variety of shops. The combination of major stores, numerous cafes and restaurants mean you can easily lose yourself for hours.

Birmingham is also an important city for sporting events, with two Premier League football clubs in Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion and also Birmingham FC in the second tier of English football. Edgbaston is the home of Cricket in the area and often hosts International test matches. And there is also the National Indoor Arena where a number of International Athletic events are held. When visiting for a sporting event, rooms with Wimdu can provide the ideal base to head out and explore the city.

If it’s a weekend of shopping and nightlife you’re visiting for then Birmingham certainly won’t disappoint. After a day of hectic shopping I would recommend venturing to Broad Street and hitting up some of the stylish haunts in the area; Revolution, The Works and The Pitcher and Piano to name a few. Due to Birmingham’s diverse cultural mix you are sure to find a restaurant to your liking; almost every nationality is represented in the city centre. The city is known as the balti capital of England, so be sure to head to the “balti triangle” which covers around 50 restaurants on Ladypool Road and Stratford Road. Discounted travel is available to the area.

So whatever your reason for visiting this buzzing city, you certainly won’t be disappointed, as you would expect from such a large city there is plenty to keep you entertained.

Copenhagen, Denmark is a relaxing and laid-back city. The quality of life is very high and people find tranquility in a variety of different locations within the city. However, the locals also enjoy their nightlife and really know how to party. When visiting the city you will have no problem finding a place to have a couple drinks, dance a little and listen to some great music. You may even find yourself meeting some new people as well.

One of the most popular nightlife spots in Copenhagen is Vega. It is the largest venue in Denmark and allows local bands, as well as international bands to show off their talent. People come to Vega to dance, drink and listen to great music. There are four different lounges and music venues in Vega so there is something for everyone.

Another great nightlife spot in Copenhagen is Andy’s Bar. It is a retro bar that is a little less crowded. Andy’s has a pub-style atmosphere and offers a large selection of beer at cheap prices. It is the perfect watering hole to go have a drink and listen to some local bands.

Copenhagen is known for having different hybrid bars. Hybrid bars are not only bars, but restaurants and lounges as well. One of the best hybrid bars in Copenhagan is Aura. The restaurant and bar changes into a club scene at night to give you the best of both worlds.

If you’re looking to make a few dollars, you could go to the Copenhagen Casino. The casino offers a lot of different ways to gamble including roulette, blackjack and poker. It is a fun alternative to the everyday bar.

If you want more of a nightclub feel then you should visit Rust, Blue Buddha or Zero Nightclub. You will get a dance club atmosphere, wonderful drinks and large crowds. The music is provided by a dj instead of a live band and is more upbeat so that you can get your groove on.

No matter what type of nightlife you are into, you will find it in Copenhagen. Be sure to take an afternoon nap because the locals love staying out late and partying for hours. Try to take in a variety of different nightlife options to get the full Copenhagen experience.
